Art, Coffee, Tea and Blogs

So this week I've got a few special blogs and sites for you;

This twice-monthly mini magazine will keep you up to date with everything that’s preventing ArtReview’s editorial staff and contributors from getting a good night’s sleep, plus all the latest news and gossip from the international artworld. In addition we’ll bring you previews and reviews of exhibitions, biennials, art fairs and auctions, as well as anything else we feel like making a fuss about.

Want to go down the rabbit hole and come up in a far away place this is the one for you. I can spend hours just looking at magazines. And not just art.

I took the following from their site
This site started with an emphasis on painters who had some connection to observed vision in their work but over time the blog grew to become more inclusive; as much perceptions on painting as it is about perceptual painting. We examine a wide range of stylistic approaches from extremely loose abstraction to precise realism and everything in between.

That's it for now. Off to the studio to finish a couple of new pieces. You'll see them posted soon! And remember...

Imagination is never still. The marks we make are verbs

Art, Coffee, Tea and Blogs

Last week I told you I got a new coffee pot. Well a number of you wanted to see what it looks like so this week I'm posting a picture of my 1940's Flamingo, Hall, Drip O Lator

So sit back enjoy your drink and let's look at blogs  __________________________________

Hyperallergic is a forum for playful, serious,and radical perspectives on art and culture in the world today. I’m not going to get into the number of awards they’ve received or the fact that they have over 70,000 subscribers (I’m a bit jealous), I’ll just leave it to you to enjoy…or not.

This site has great interviews and an immense amount of podcasts.

This site is more a gallery site than a blog but the artists they show have a lot going for them. I love the quality of the reproductions on the site.

If you have a favorite blog let me know, I'd love to go read it.

ART SCAMMERS ABOUND !!

I received a wonderful email from Robert Cook about wanting to buy one of my works for his wife. I sell on line so at first the email sounded legitimate BUT THEN... I noticed some grammar mistakes and was suddenly uneasy. I did some research and found a web site http://stopartscams.blogspot.com/ and another site with scammer names, http://kathleenmcmahon.com/info/scammer-names.html
Apparently these scammers are preying on the fact that as artist, we would love to say we sold a piece of work. Its amazing on how many people get these emails. Tell your friends, check out the web site exposing the scams and remember if it seems to good to be true IT IS!
